An Easy to Follow Weight Loss Plan

Old School New Body Review If you are trying to lose weight and not having much success, maybe it is time you simplified your weight loss plan. Humans tend to over-complicate even the simplest of tasks. But weight loss doesn't have to be complicated. Read on for an easy to follow weight loss plan. If you want to lose weight and keep it off the simplest way to do this is to reduce your caloric intake. By reducing your calorie intake by five hundred calories a day you will start to see a difference. The good news is this is really very easy to do. The first step in reducing your calories is to make a food journal. I know this may seem like a bore, but you have to know how many calories you are putting into your body before you start to reduce the calories that you take in. Write down everything you eat in a day and try to fill in the amount that you eat. Once you have the food journal filled out, visit the web and do a search for an online calorie counter. You should come up with several online tools that will tell you the amount of calories found in the foods that you eat. Total up all the calories that you had for the day. Now you need to find out how you can shave five hundred calories off this total.

One 12 ounce can of regular soda can contain up to 120 to 180 calories per can. If you drink a larger bottle, it can give you up to 300 calories per bottle. One ounce of Lay's regular potato chips contains 150 calories. But if you look at how many ounces you are eating it is probably more than one ounce. One glazed doughnut contains as much as 270 calories. If you eat out at Taco Bell and have nachos and beef you are taking in a whopping 430 calories! These are just a few examples of where you can trim the calories from your daily diet. Instead of regular soda switch to diet soda or water. Replace the potato chips with fruit for a snack. Eat a high fiber, low calorie cereal or oatmeal for breakfast instead of that doughnut and don't eat out for lunch. Pack a healthy lunch instead. There are many diet plans out there and each one claims to be the magic bullet that will make the pounds drop away. But there is no magic bullet. The best way to lose weight and to keep it off is to make a total lifestyle change. This means changing the way you eat and the way you live your life. The following eight simple rules will help you get a jump start on your weight loss goals. Take one day at a time. When you look too far ahead and think about all the pounds that you need to lose it can get overwhelming. Don't worry about three months down the road, just take it one day at a time.

Eat slowly and stop eating when satisfied. This one rule is very important. If you are like most people you are always in a hurry, and you eat faster than you should. Make a conscious effort to chew your food more thoroughly and slow down your meals. This will give you stomach enough time to signal your brain that you are getting full. When you start to feel satisfied, get up and move away from your plate.  Drink more water. This is very important if you are trying to lose weight and get healthy. Water helps the whole body function better. Eat more often. Instead of eating three large meals a day, try eating six smaller meals throughout the day. This will keep your metabolism fired up and help you burn off calories. Cut down on eating out. Instead of eating out three or four times a week eat out only once or twice a month. Take out food can contain a ton of calories and the portions are huge. Enlist the help of a friend. If you start a weight loss program with a friend you can keep each other accountable, and it will be a lot more fun. Remove the word diet from your personal vocabulary. This is a mental trick that I learned not too long ago. The word diet brings to mind something that is temporary. Therefore, if you don't think of your weight loss as a diet you will be more likely to make it a lifetime thing. This is the best form of exercise you can get. Try to walk each day. Get your friend to walk with you to make it more fun.
